Hello,

I'm new to this forum. So, I hope I am doing this correctly. I picked up a cent in change and I am not sure what kind of error is on the obverse. The reverse is normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks like glue to me. If you stick two coins together with a drop of clear glue and then pull them apart it leave an image of the other coin in the glue on the opposite coin. The glue if thin looks a lot like metal on the coin. I found a coin once that had glue on it and I thought it was an extra image in the coin. Someone on a coin forum told me to try acetone and it came right off. Could have sworn it was extra metal. Try a little acetone on it and see if it comes off.

I agree with the glue assessment. You can see a clear edge at the base of the Lincoln Memorial steps.

I will also say it looks like glue to me also, looks like someone glued a oBverse and reverse together and then the glue dried it left the impression of the reverse on the Obverse of the coin you have

I agree, two coins glued together and then separated at a later time.
