The location of the mint mark is incorrect for 001.

If this is a zinc planchet coin, it maybe a split plating issue. The 001 is a copper planchet coin. The marks inside the mint mark are from a damaged punch. Look at several coins from that year and you can see this issue on many dies, telling me it is a damaged punch. (also different denominations as well) Inside the mint mark vertical upright, it appears to be a split in that location. I've seen that before. The platings rolls upwards making it look like a RPM, but it is not.

So in all, I'm seeing a normal mint mark on this coin. (note the gray area SE of the mint mark)
