I made a sale LAST Saturday, so a little less than a week ago. I shipped it out on Monday of this week and the seller had it by Wednesday. He also left positive feedback. This wouldn't bother me if I was a new seller, because I can understand they want me to establish myself, but I've been selling on ebay for easily 6 months now with over 100 feedback points and 100% feedback score. I've sold nearly 50 items with well over $1,000 total on all items. PayPal still insists on keeping my money until MAY 16 from the most recent sale that was completed and paid for on APRIL 25. Why the heck do I have to continue waiting that long to receive the money into my PayPal account?

Have you been waiting three weeks for your money for all this time?

Call PayPal and see if they will release your funds.

Quote: Have you been waiting three weeks for your money for all this time? It varies, but this time it was longer than usual, for some reason unbeknownst to me. It led to my little rant. Quote: Call PayPal and see if they will release your funds. I'll see what I can do with that.

I'm asking because I just began selling from my usual buying account, and ran into the same (expected) holds on my money. In every single instance, they have beaten their quoted date and consistently freed up the money three days or so after confirmed delivery - they're monitoring the tracking. It seems pretty anomalous to me. On the other hand, the account itself is 8 years old.

Since your not a new seller, the only thing I can think of is they are trying to keep a certain amount in your Pay Pal account to cover any possible returns, especially if you only ship out a few items per week.
If you keep a small "on hand" balance in your Pay Pal account or none at all, that could possibly be the reason.
It seems unusual to me, so it's my best guess. give them a call to find out for sure.

I'm assuming they didn't pay by echeck, or you probably would have mentioned it. Those things take a while to clear.

That sounds odd. I sold my one and only ebay item back in February and had my funds released in like 3 days after delivery. It was a signature required delivery due to the value, that could be why.

On the contrary, it all sounds right to me. A three week hold isn't very long to wait. Remember that your customer has close to a month to return your items (and get cash back), so it makes sense to keep that money available. Also, ebay normally will keep their 'cut' available until they pull it (once a month). When I first started selling on ebay, the delay irked me too, but I've adjusted, and also never have 'desperate' needs for current income.

Welcome to the lovely world of ebay and PayPal . They do tend to operate in funny ways. One day both of them are going to be hit with class action law suits by furious sellers who have just about had enough of their 100 per cent buyers bias. Their tactics leave a lot to be desired. We have well over 10000 successful E bay transactions and they both still amaze me!

Could this have something to do with the new policy I just saw regarding ebay and Paypal companies splitting ways? Anyone else seen that yet?
