Gallienus - Unusual Reverse - Not In Ric? Or Wildwinds?

What I do know is - GALLERIAN 253-268 A.D. AE23.5 mm, 4.1 gm, Obv. IMP CP LIC GALLIENVS P F AVG Radiate, cuirassed bust right, Rev. VIRTVS AVG Emperor? Can anyone help with an attribution here please? I feel like I am 'missing' something. Did the name 'GALLIENVS' appear on someone elses coins like Vespasian appears on Nero coins? sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 05/04/2015 12:40 am I found seven different types of coins in a search on VCOINS for 'VIRTVS gallienus'. Each of these types has a radiate bust obverse, with two standing figures on the reverse with VIRTVS in the reverse legend. Perhaps you may find a near match with one of those. I googled 'Samosata' and I had a quick read, and it begs the question (in my mind) why don't these coins (this coin) feature on RIC or on Wildwinds? @ Sel. I did try 'Acsearch' as well - no luck, (prior to 'posting'), but I didn't try 'Vcoins' until you suggested it. Thanks, but while the twelve examples with the same Obv. legend featured the 'usual suspects', my reverse isn't one of them. Report this Post to the Staff
