I have one of these too, and have no idea where I got it lol. It's factory sealed with plastic in the 2x2 so I've never taken it out to look too closely and wasn't able to read the 'Canary dies'.

Unsure why this post was moved from the Canadian Commemoratives and Non-Circulating Coinage (NCLT) as it is a Canadian Canadian commemorative coin and is also a Canadian Non-Circulating Coin!

I wrote about this double die medal many years ago in Canadian Coin News. Cool medal considering it's cheap and sports a neat doubled die. Canadian Art Dies made a lot of small medals in the 1960s and maybe later. All I've seen are in copper and slightly larger than a Lincoln Cent -- maybe closer to US nickel size. I have a roll of 100th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's death medals showing his dates of birth and death as 1809 - 1965 with the date 1865 cut over 1965. It was offered for sale in 1965. I got my roll in the early 1980s. I still have most and give them away on occasion. Just inside the lower rim on the reverse it says CAN. ART. DIES. There is one really strong repunched star on the rev.
