X2an Pillar of the Community Sweden 1078 Posts	Posted 05/08/2015 10:53 am Is it about the same thinkness as that of a Morgan dollar? 19 grams sounds insufficient for silver. Also, I can't see a denomination on it. That, the dual portrait, the inscription of the other side and the single date "1345" suggests to me it is just a medal. Was worried about weight but 100% convinced it was silver due to the harsh toning on the obverse and a quick search for medals like that seem to vary between 19-23g for various years of Iranian medals which is a little strange!
