Here is a neat find from Gerald Fishman. A secondary D is sitting right on top of the primary D with no overlap.

I listed it for the CPG as FS-501. James Wiles declined to list it for CONECA saying he couldn't see the secondary D; all he saw was die scratches. Cherrypickers: FS-01-1936D-501, Wexler WRPM-008, Crawford: CRPM-001, Coppercoins: 1936D-1MM-004.

These I suspect are often overlooked even by variety hunters. I know I need to slow it down to see something like this.

You are right. This one could be missed until you know to look for it. Also, the ones Fishman found are Early Die State, I really want to say, Very Early Die State. I can't imagine this variety was visible on this die for long.

Another great point. Finding this via CRH may be a pipe-dream. Cherrypicking from unc rolls/specimens might be the only way to find these today.

Ya, I don't think it would show at all on a grade lower than an AU but who knows.
