Here is a neat find from Gerald Fishman. A secondary D is sitting right on top of the primary D with no overlap.

I listed it for the CPG as FS-501. James Wiles declined to list it for CONECA saying he couldn't see the secondary D; all he saw was die scratches. Cherrypickers: FS-01-1936D-501, Wexler WRPM-008, Crawford: CRPM-001, Coppercoins: 1936D-1MM-004.

These I suspect are often overlooked even by variety hunters. I know I need to slow it down to see something like this.

Nice specimen Ken - thanks for sharing!

Rackster,
You are right. This one could be missed until you know to look for it. Also, the ones Fishman found are Early Die State, I really want to say, Very Early Die State. I can't imagine this variety was visible on this die for long.

Another great point. Finding this via CRH may be a pipe-dream. Cherrypicking from unc rolls/specimens might be the only way to find these today.

Ya, I don't think it would show at all on a grade lower than an AU but who knows.
