Doing some research this morning I think I found a doubled die on a well know coin. I won't mention the year yet, but I found this searching on Heritagecoins.com
1939-Jefferson-Nickel-Doubled-Obverse-And-Reverse-Die

You will never guess on what coin it is the other side of:

This one was probably not noticed because of the reverse DDR
