Was looking at the dollar with a macro lens and found
this shiny obverse die crack, through the GIN in REGINA.

See pictures and all comments welcome.

a very nice yet some what common find...depending on how long this die was used that crack looks like it easily could have become a Retained Cud or Cud.
Feel free to call me Will.

Nice-just love those fresh unworn spider-like die cracks. Looks as if it extends rim to rim.

That die crack on 1953 SF Dollars
is known as Variety Obv. 002 according
to Charlton and appears on the SWL.
I have one with the same crack on mine.
Nice looking coin.

I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that the die crack through
the word "REGINA" on the 53 SF appears only on the SWL.

The 53 NSF also has a die crack variety that shows through the word "GRATIA"
