After reading a post a few days back about the 1983 penny weighing 3.3 grams instead of 2.5 grams, I put the few aside that I came across. Then tonite when I saw koinpro's post on the 1983 d/d errors, I went through the ones I set aside & found these with die cracks:
coin number 2
coin#3 possible PMD on GOD?(forgot to take full coin pic, only have microscope pix)
3.3 grams, should be 3.1. Those are die cracks and in common areas on the coin so, no biggy. I recommend not taking pics so close up,hard to make out what I am looking at. Check out coppercoins.com for info on the 1983's. John1
The Glitter look to it is similar to ones my wife carries around in her purse from makeup. Spendable. Damage and die cracks with a little split plating and circulation damage. (the 1983 cents were probably the worst dies for cracks/over polishing/clashes/die scratches and other bad events)
