aardspeed Pillar of the Community 921 Posts	Posted 05/11/2015 02:30 am After reading a post a few days back about the 1983 penny weighing 3.3 grams instead of 2.5 grams, I put the few aside that I came across. Then tonite when I saw koinpro's post on the 1983 d/d errors, I went through the ones I set aside & found these with die cracks: coin number 2 coin#3 possible PMD on GOD?(forgot to take full coin pic, only have microscope pix) Report this Post to the Staff

John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 05/11/2015 07:44 am 3.3 grams, should be 3.1. Those are die cracks and in common areas on the coin so, no biggy. Damage and die cracks with a little split plating and circulation damage. (the 1983 cents were probably the worst dies for cracks/over polishing/clashes/die scratches and other bad events) Report this Post to the Staff
