Hello all, just looking for grades and opinions. The obverse is much stronger than the reverse. Would this end up a details grade?

definitely a details coin, I would pass....if it was a good deal someone would have taken it already. give him a while and heck probably relist it for less.
its an interesting and historical piece.....up to you in the end.

Always like these later Birmingham pieces. Yours is damaged, as many are. It would still garner interest below $100.

Thank you all for the information. I ended up buying it, will probably just put it on the trade list. Too bad I didn't see you're advice sooner, thedollarman. I definitely would have passed.

I like it. When it comes to copper coins EAC doesn't grade "details" like the TPGs do. We net grade the coin down. This is a nice piece. Don't dismiss it because of a little damage.
I'll grade it F-12 net graded down to VG-8 for the damage.

I like that whole "no details grades" notion. EAC is Early American Coppers, correct?

Is there somewhere I can go to find more info?

EAC is short for Early American Coppers were a collecting society dedicated to collecting all early American copper cents, Half Cents, coins and tokens.

They are captivating. Especially the early, pre-federal examples.

You're correct. Flying Eagles are excluded because they aren't pure copper. Colonial, Post-Colonial, and issues like Washington tokens are included along with all Large Cents and Half Cents. All these are collected by our cult, oops I mean club.
