This is a 1859 that was introduced to me a few years ago, I believe it was Dan in crystal lake and it was before Dr Haxby's site was established. There's something going on with the stem to leaf #12 on this reverse. I'd searched for quite some time for this coin but I never new any other markers to ID it so it's taken a while. I've finally found one and thought I'd share the Haxby number for it as this feature is not covered on Vickycent. Maybe I can convince Dr. Haxby to include it on his site. I realize there are other distinctive markers for this reverse with the re-punched "O" being conclusive enough for proper ID but I think this is quite distinctive and cool also.

The Haxby Number is PC59-402 Obv 40 with Rev I2

Do you think this should be included on the site?

Cheers, SIC

The stem at 12 was recut so it appears to be a double stem. There is a somewhat scarcer variety that has this stem like that, but I don't see the other markers for it.

I also have several of this variety. A while back I suggested to Dr. Haxby
to make reference to the interesting double stem to leaf 12...but he is a busy man.
