Micrometer is somewhere in storage...might just have to go to Home-Depot with both cents to try out theirs... ;)

The pic with the scale shows both coins at the same weight?

They are. But if I shaved off the excess metal on the rim, that would drop the weight.

But without the copper plate it should weigh less now? If you shave the edge it should weigh even less?

I acquired one of these cents a long time ago & ended up throwing it away. I presumed it was melted with a blow torch.

I agree John1 but by how much less. My digital scale only measures to 1 decimal place. The coating might not make that much of a difference weight wise. Also, not sure how precise the scale is...

Yea,I know what you mean. The scale has to go down to at least .001 and even then you have to factor in the mints tolerance for weight +/- .13g.
