Recent pick up but not in hand yet. Is it possible for grading opinions and a Newcomb variety based on the seller photos?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks! RK

don't know about the variety but I would grade it VF-35 from what I see in the photos , could even be 25 or 30

I agree with VF35. Nice coin. At first glance it looks like an N-2, but don't hold me to it. Will try and confirm it later.

It looks better than VF to me. AU-50 or 53.

I might be willing to bump up a little to XF40, and will stay with N-2 until I can see the date area better.

My initial thought was XF-40, with a chance at low AU. The reverse photo is a little fuzzy but I should have the coin in hand tomorrow (Sat 5-16).

I will post new photo's when I get the coin.

I won the coin at $32.24 with (free ship) The coin just caught my eye, I hope it looks nice in hand.

I received the coin and shot a few pics. Celticsoul may be correct, xf40, cleaned and re-toned? I still like the coin in hand and for $32 I am keeping it.

I like the, what appears to be a lamination issue on the obverse. A little Verdicare might help the look.

Is there a bulge at the southwest of the O in One on the reverse?

I think you're right RK55, it's such a low investment and it's a neat coin for the mint error on the obverse alone. I always feel okay with details on these large cents, especially when they have good eye appeal like this one. Nice pickup!
