I bought four Franklins in AU condition. They looked almost as good as the uncirculated ones at half the price. I bought the four early years 1948, 48-D, 49, and 50. I paid $51. Some of these coins get expensive in BU condition like the 49-S and 49-d. I just don't feel like paying close to $100 bucks for those coins.

Very nice deal! I bought my first franklin in XF condition for more than what you got for an AU one. I'd say ya did good. I'd love to see pictures!

I agree ... that some AU coins can be as nice looking as some BU coins..

I think Franklin half dollars are a good sets with only a
few that are harder to find
