I could use a little help with this 1828 Half..... I've been all over the pictures on the Heritage Auction Archives for the 1828 Square "2", and I think I've narrowed this one down to an O-109.

Square "2", Large "8", re-engraved large "8" over a small "8", and the "I" in PLURIBUS is directly under the "T" in STATES. Am I right?

Also, any grade opinions on this one would be great!

Thanks,

Rick

Looks like O.109 R3 to me. Star positions look right, recut 8, T/I relationship. A-A nearly touch. Harvey

I'll buy O.109. Stars, A's and I are where Overton says they should be, and the date is right. As for grade, I'm not the expert but I see a slightly flat strike and a "slider" AU. Call it a strong EF45 but if Susan says AU50 I'd believe her. Great Bustie.
