This common, heavily worn 5 centime isn't worth a dime. It's obviously not gold, and the seller admits as much. Yet 5 bidders pushed it over $100. What were they thinking?

ebay never ceases to amaze me. Junk sells.

I think it is in part because buyers do not read the entire text. Then when questioned about it they will NOT admit they were stupid but come up with a variety of excuses. When I worked for ebay I could get the names of the winning bidders on counterfeits to ask why they bid and why they provided no feedback indicating fraud.

I would say this is a scam auction. A team of tricksters is doing a trap to make their money.
