I attended Alliance Coin's Victoria Day sale today, in Almonte, and picked this one up for a $100 bill...
I collect "geologically themed" coinage, and I have the 1951 commemorative business strike, the 1951 commemorative Specimen Strike (but I am not going to buy the DC-29 Pattern piece)... so when I saw this one, I liked it and since it was below issue price, I bought it... pictures forthcoming... Good one, as all in this series. Congrats for your coin!
I less like buildings on the coins (mean "any coin"), so passed over this piece, but any way it is beautiful.

Apologies for the tardiness... here are a couple of quick photos snapped with my hand-held camera, with the coin inside its capsule.

Great coin. I received mine as well a couple weeks ago. I've got the set up to date and I haven't been disappointed. The Victory nickel was a little off, but overall everything looks great as it sits. Now just waiting for the Beaver!

Quote: Now just waiting for the Beaver! So nothing after Beaver? Even no spare hole in the case? Looks like that the Mint knows, that will be no new circulation design in the future (even not commemorative).

yes, "1967 The Hare" is already issued this month (June).
very surprised to see the coins from this series widely available for issue from the dealers. Was thinking that the demand will excess the production.

There's suppose be a new nickel design for the 2017 Sesquicentennial as per the RCMs contest: OTTAWA, ONTARIO, MARCH 11, 2015 - To celebrate Canada's upcoming 150th anniversary, the Royal Canadian Mint is inviting Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast to design the 5-cent, 10-cent, 25-cent, one-dollar and two-dollar coins that will circulate in 2017.http://www.mint.ca/store/news/royal....VZGoxhtVhBcLooks like in 2 years everyone's Legendary Nickel set will be incomplete.
