I hope I'm not the only one who has problems distinguishing the Small from the Large...

Really hard to tell on the left coin because of the wear...
The right is definitely LC.

The best way to tell is by the shape of the inner crown lining, the boldness of the crown, and the definition of the Maltese cross...
Distance between the leaves would have been affected by wear.

The left coin to too worn for me to give a solid opinion on...LC if I were to guess, just because SC are so disgustingly rare...

Both nice pieces regardless of SC/LC!

Just teasing us without obverse pics JD!

For me what determined the left as large bead even though it is worn is the
distance between the crown and leaf on both sides.
On Large Crown, there is less distance on the left side as opposed to the right side.
On Small Crown, the distance would be equal.

Another marker to determine large/small crown is the line above the date. On small crown coins the line extends to the right further than the right side of the second A in CANADA, on large crown coins the line is appreciably shorter.

Will try to post the Reverse for the curious.

I read that with the small, it was too far to one side and it was corrected with the large afterwards with the crown more equally distributed between the leaves. Or am I mixing up the order of mintage and the crowns as well...

Thanks, I knew about the line but I figured sometimes a ding or wear could hide it.

You have it reversed.
The Small Crown is centered and the Large Crown
is off to the left side.
