picked up a couple new coins, one is pretty nice...one really isn't. but it was 4 bucks, so what the heck.

JUSTINIAN I

Pentanummium
Theoupolis (Antioch).
Obv: D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG.
DIademed, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: Large E with central cross; star to right.
Sear 244.
16 mm
2.4 g

a byzantine pentanummium has been on my list for quite some time. the next coin I already have one of, but picked up another...not sure if i'll keep it or not.

Pretty hard to pass up a nice bronze for $4 ! I would have bid a fiver !
Many deals to had 'out there' lately. I am close to once again bankrupting myself with all the $10 bargains I am finding.

Chris your killing me, two very nice coins. I've been looking at the Ivan & Michael on Vcoins there are a few nice ones there but haven't gone for one yet. Congrats.

I like that the Justinian has a full obverse legend. You don't see that too often on those little Byzantine bronzes.

Wow you only paid $4 for the Ivan, I've seen ones in very worn condition sell for $40. Don't know where you found them but I wish I could find ones so cheap.
