At first I thought this was of Emperor Shieng Tsu reign title K'ang-hsi 1662-1722 and Boo Clowan, Hu Pu Board of Revenue.

The characters do not match and I cannot find them in Krause or on Calgary coins online id. Is it ca counterfeit or some sort of replica.

The Boo style looks correct and the patina is indicative of age.

What do you mean the characters don't match? There were literally thousands of different moulds that have slight variations from one another. Also, the wear present on the coin could have distorted the characters.

You are correct in your attribution. In Hartill's guide, it is an H-22.88 with a one-dot 'TONG' and 'XI' with two disconnected strokes in the bottom right.

I highly doubt that this is a counterfeit as this issue is so common. Counterfeits of this issue do exist, but your coin shows no resemblance to those counterfeits.

Thanks TypeCoin, I had considered the differing mold quality but was afraid I was seeing what I wanted and not what was there so I thought I would seek the knowledge of more experienced eyes.
