Purchased via auction from a shop in Glasgow Scotland. Has a wire rim on top of coin (black arrow) and shows quite a bit of face detail on the obverse (blue arrow). On the reverse, and I've noticed this on other high grade examples at heritage.com, there is a reddish something around the ship. Comment appreciated as I'm not a colonial collector. Grades?

An excellent example. I'll have to check it out later when I get home from work. An excellent Breen 1144 variety. The only other variety is the Breen 1143 which is the same coin struck in brass instead of copper.

Wonderful token. These were actually produced in Dublin sometime after 1820 and were backdated to throw off Canadadian import laws.
They are part of the American Colonial series despite the fact that they were not American nor Colonial.
They were also struck without a collar.

A really great token now that I see it on my laptop. It appears only lightly circulated and I would give it a grade of EAC 40 which would correspond to an EF-45 market grade.
The planchet on this coin is smooth and the color is natural and even. As I stated in an earlier post this is variety Breen 1144 which has a rarity designation of R.2.
Another great coin.
North American Token Breen 1144 R.2 40/40.

They're Colonial only because Breen said they were and put them in his book.

EF45 in my opinion, and a clean, strong strike, specially the obverse.
Nice coin!

Although not strictly 'American Colonial' in the sense that I understand it ,(i.e struck in America for use in America), it is still an interesting issue with an american association, as the Red Book says some of the mintage made its way to America.
