Got this the other day, just thought it was a shiny cent. Notice the left wheat stock. What is that?

Common die chip. In the 50s they overused the dies. you can see how late of a die stage that is. Look at the ghosting on the obverse. This die pair worked long and hard,

I do too. I take it the ghosting being talked about is that round shape around Lincoln? Definitely adds character!
