I also have half dollars from 1940 and 1941 - are these "collectible" or just melt as well?

Any King George VI is collectable. Value depends on condition.

Even circulated, still worth more than bullion. Depends on what grade they are. (Good, Fine, Very Fine Etc.)

Okay - so what do I do? Walk into a coin dealer and trust him? How much could they be worth? $15?
What do you suggest, given that I only have 2 of them.

They look like they're in Fine condition and would probably fetch $8 a piece for them.

Melt Value....I can't see a dealer paying a premium over bullion for these, nor a collector for that matter.
