I couldn't help it: I bought this 17 for $83 bux. I love rolling the dice on these out'a focus pix. I can see the details anyway without them being in perfect focus. I figure this for a MS coin...Heck it's a dirty coin, no chance it's been improperly cleaned! I'm thinking this is a decent buy. This will benefit from a dip in the ultrasonic cleaner.

It's either a ms coin or a high AU coin but still a nice coin to have . Post some pics after the ultrasonic clean

The details are there....albeit hidden....it's a high AU coin, possibly MS.

Ultrasonic cleaner? Is that safe?

Yes; done in clean plain water. And not for long mind you; just enough to get any oxidized material not to mention just plain dirt off of the coin. A matter of less than 30 sec.

I would leave it the way it is. "Cleaning" it might show some things you do not want to see.

Leave it alone. I usually say that if you do not like how it looks, replace it. If you only bought this for the deal, do not risk devaluing it.

I could, w/ a little sonic cleaner get a little better color w/o losing all the toning. I don't want to dip it.

She looks a lot better in your photos than the seller photos.

I would still leave this one alone.

Cascade it's funny you mention that. So I've found one of the odd features of the three mint's strikes of this series is... her thumb. I don't know if it's the year, the mint, or both; but most strikes of this coin barely show it.
It's there but hard to see.

I think he was referencing the fact that the seller's original photos show a distinct thumb....the new photos however do not. Just different lighting or angles? Strange that it is so distinct in the originals but basically gone now.

Lighting and shadows. Zoom in both photos and compare.
