No, it's not error-variety but I thought I'd put this up anyway. I cherried it at a garage sale with other letters and a buying circular from Mehl. The check is dated 1926 and comes with lots of strings attached.

There are also four letters from Mehl. An introductory letter followed by three "where are you" letters each one different and all color coded; blue, craft, golden-rod and pink.

Additionally there is a 4-page 9x12" circular touting his The Star Rare Coin Encyclopedia And Premium Catalog, prices he is paying for coins and testimonials. (He was paying $100 for an 1894-S dime and $1250 for an 1804 dollar.) All of this is too large to save and post here in a resolution that is legible. Ohh there is also a return envelope of little importance.

I paid $10 after not being able to negotiate down any (wanted to pay $5). Seemed fair to me as I've seen (and own) Rare Coin Encyclopedias but never saw this stuff before. I'm sure it's not scarce but I find it fun to own. Cheap thrills!

Ooh, I like that. What a great piece of numismatic history. I collect mainly Canadian cheques, but that's cool.

Where's the picture of the back of the check listing the "conditions"?
