it looks like copper but I don't know and it weighs 5.8 grams but the first image shows the star on front of coin right on the neck

Try rubbing on the rim. You can see the silver color come through quicker on the raised devices. Also the color would be as dark as a cent if this were a missing cladding.

On the coin found outside, this silver color comes through quicker. Not so on the missing cladding examples.

I found these outside in the grass near my vehicle. I find them every year after a thaw. Same effect though many coins may be a bit different than here depending on the retirement were found. No I didn't find the War Nickel on the ground. I got it from a fellow at the grocery store that was going to spend it.
