Here's a slabbed example of the final year of bust halves, and the only affordable year for a New Orleans-minted date. How would you all grade this coin?

AU58, MS? Can't really tell from the pictures because the lighting and the slab scratches makes it hard to see.

I am going with MS61.
It looks like there is some luster present.

Very nice piece Jaobler! I just love that MM above the date. I will say it is MS-63 based solely on the pics provided. I won't bet the farm on that grade unless I can have it in hand and see how the light reflects.

I agree the photos don't really give clear enough detail to make a good judgment. It's hard working through those slabs!

NGC gave this coin an AU-58. There is a trace of rub over Liberty's cap and on the drapery at the tip of the bust. The eagle's left talons also show light wear. Luster is strong on the reverse but weaker on the obverse. I suspect the coin was dipped at some point, reducing the originality of the surfaces. Still, it's a keeper!
