Recently my home was burglarized, along with many valuables the thiefs also made away with most of my coin collection. Instead of trying to replace the entire collection I am trying to focus on just collecting Lincoln wheat cents 1909-1958. If anyone has any suggestions for Acquiring wheat Pennie lot at cheap prices I'd much appreciate it. Losing something you've put so much time, money, & effort into is tough.

I can't help with the question too much really but I just wanted to extend my sympathies for the loss of your collection and other valuables and the burglarizing of your home. I hope the culprits are quickly apprehended with your stolen property and it is promptly returned to you.

If you have valuable coins, perhaps you could keep an eye out at local pawn shops and craigslist to help see if they are starting to unload your collection.

I take pictures of almost all my coins that are over $20, if you have anything like that perhaps you could match up marks to help the police apprehend the criminals.

Good luck.
Rest in Peace

There is one thing that NO thief can steal from you. You can't even give it away, although you can share it.
Your love of coin collecting.
That, after all, it the most valuable thing in all of numismatics.

For LWC's, start off again by searching through dealers' junk boxes. I have continued searching junk boxes for most of my life, despite having a nice collection valued at lots of money.
To me, a coin valued at ten cents can be just as numismatically important as coin valued at hundreds of dollars. An average LWC is a prime example.

The most inexpensive way I know of to collect Lincoln cents is roll searching. You can go to a bank and buy rolls of pennies, search them and then return the ones you don't need. Each cent you keep only costs a penny!

Hate to even say this but even worse is that in most such cases the crooks simply dump all coins in coin counting machines or take in a bag to a bank. Going around to pawn shops will not get you anything. Almost impossible to say those are mine since coins do not have serial numbers and you can't engrave your name on them. To me that is what is really horrible. The fact that your years of hard work collecting is just dumped as if they were only coins.

I am sorry to hear about the theft. I hate a theif, I hope you recover your lose

That has happened to me, from trusting a roommate in Portland I felt sorry for and even got him a job, but was sick one day and I came home and my coins, and other valuables and my 1950 Chevy cpe. I found only the chevy in Seattle.

I feel bad that this is going on way much now.

I have found old coins that were to nice condition that were probably stolen out of their Dads set or?
