Does this get a pass due to its rarity? Or am I being too critical. Cant afford it anyway so I guess this is just a Howcome?

I hope that's from the die damage as stated on that orange note

I thought the die damage was the mark at 4 oclock. The mark at two oclock bulges the other side of the coin so I did not think that was caused by the die.

It could've been subjected to damage in an effort to confirm it was silver and not plated.

Regardless, it does have strong details, and the Oak Tree is a tougher variety. Prices for these tend to vary widely. The majority of these 1652-ish coins tend to suffer from some condition issue or another, it seems, and that makes price comparison difficult. Great coins, still ... AND, few coin collectors will ever own one.

I once owned a Pine Tree Threepence, and I sometimes experience pangs of seller's remorse!
