Very clean example! I too would guess at EF-40, perhaps even 45. The reverse crown is very strong too (a common place for a weak strike). According to P.Charest's book, this appears to be the "High 4 and Low 2" die variety, which carries a slight premium over other versions.

Thanks KurtS could you tell me the name of the P.Charest's book, I have the latest Charlton catalouge 62nd edition, as I really like Canadian coins i'd Like to get books with more detailed info on Canadian cois....

The photo doesn't really do the coin justice as theres more detail on the head of King George VI ie the hair detail than in the picture...

Yes...I suspect there was more detail, as the obverse looked so clean. It might even approach AU-50.
The book is titled Canadian Coins and their varieties.
