This Half Dime seems to missing part of the denticles on the Obverse or at least it was not struck correctly. Any thoughts, comments? Thanks. Jeff

Looks like a combination of Wear/Grease or perhaps just a worn die. These little Half Dimes are notorious for little errors.

I don't know what causes it but the denticles being like that is rather commone on Half Dimes from the 1850's. You see it some on the dimes as well.
