"The gold-plated coin represents athletic achievement and has the same design as the gold medals to be handed out at the international competition"

But the coin above is Silver with Hologram and does not represent a medal.

Their "medal replica" gold-plated oversized 50 cents coin is cool and good priced. But there is significant miss:
the "mokume" technology, that used for the medals (that's why they trendy), doesn't appear on the gold plated coin.
So the coin is medal-like, but misses it's main feature

Instead of this - other miss - they used a "mokume" for other "sports" silver coin. If it were introduced on some "artistic style Proof Maple" coin with the limited mintage - it could be bestseller...

It would've been a huge hit if it were on a non-sports coin. I think the mintage should have been at least 5000 for it to be worth anything.

Just wondering if anyone on here has purchased any of the Pan Am Games coins. I like the looks of them but I'd really like to see photos of coins in hand to see what they really look like.

The coins, commemorates sports events, like flyers or stickers - just merchandise, doesn't valued much.

Of cause, people might collect sports related coins, but looks like - not the common case.

From other hand, the coin commemorates the victory of the Canadian team - will have potential. Or, if RCM would mint affordable priced coin, with just "Pan Am" words on it with the mintage 1000 - 2000, this will be the hit.
