Hello fellow coin enthusiasts, I've come across a dime and I don't know what to think. I'm not even sure if what I think is even possible, but that's why I'm posting here.

There's discoloration in between his head and the metal, and same on reverse , and I don't know if you can really tell from last picture, but the rim actually narrows where the metal is. My opinion is the piece of metal, is a piece of the die that broke off when stamped, but I didn't know how or if it would be possible Until I saw this.

I'm pretty sure it's PMD, but what does it weigh?

It weighs 2.32 on my scale and 2015 uncirc is 2.27

It looks like solder or similar Post Mint Damage. Whatever it is projects out beyond the confines of the collar on the obverse yet the coin is struck normally. This is really not possible within the minting process (as we see here). The image of the die looks familiar. :)

Yes. PMD, I think the yellow tint in that area is a sign of heat damage.
