Central Bank of Ireland - 2015 €15 Silver Proof Coin (W.B. Yeats)

This €15 Silver Proof coin commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of William Butler Yeats, the Irish poet and Nobel Laureate was launched yesterday, the 3rd June 2015.

The design, by Irish artist Mary Gregoriy, tries to make a visual poem with rhythm and beat. Not with words but with pictures. The coin, with an issue limit of 8,000 pieces, is struck in .925 sterling silver, has a diameter of 38.61mm and weighs 28.28 grammes.

The price of the coin is €44 and will go on sale from today the 4th June 2015.

Coins can be purchased by phoning 1890 307 607, by downloading an order form from http://www.centralbank.ie, or directly from the Central Bank on Dame Street in Dublin at a cost of €44.
