I can't seem to find a match for this on CC. I know it's a rpm because of the split serifs at the bottom of the D. My question is has the top taken a hit? It appears to be too straight to be PMD.

Yup that's a hit , and an rpm.
To be honest I have a bunch of 1960 rpm's that I haven't attributed yet. Waiting for a super sized bottle of Tylenol for the headache I will get. Lordy that was a prolific year for rpm's !

Was this found in a OBW roll? If so, you might check through the roll for markers that match your coin in that roll. If you find the same die markers on another coin, then you will know it the mint mark was damaged or not.

The person I get these coins from said they were all from 2 mint bags his grandfather had. Coop, I am still finding the 1960 DDR,s like the 3 I sent you.

Save them all and fill rolls with them. They will eventually be something someone will want. (I usually stop after a roll)
