I would say from the fish and gun motif, that it a local private rod and gun club medal. With the banner over the top,it might not have been engraved with either name and or place of finish. The SS my mean anything. Look for a local city or location if it was local purchase and not ebay.

Q G Rifle Club

Sharpshooter

1950

It is an American medal by the generic red, white, and blue ribbon.

This looks similar to medals I have won in the past. It is mostlikely a stock catalog design that you would order at a trophy shop.

If you have every watched American Pickers or the show with the two old cowboys in Canada you will notice that they spend a lot of time getting the story of things. This is a good example of why they do it.

Items with no intrinsic value can be far more valuable if you know that this is a medal from the 1950 fall turkey shoot at Quakerville Gun and Rod Club that was won by a twelve year old girl named Maddie who outshot all the men in the single shot rifle competition to bring home a 20 pound turkey.
