Ok so this was completely an impulse buy... But for $20.. How did I do? I see them as good but the scratches may have made it a bad deal. Thanks!

You did alright at $20.00 for the pair. About $30.00 worth of dimes there. The 1853 with arrows looks great, just honest wear and neither one of them look to have ever been cleaned.

Even with all the scratches on the 1883? Do I need a better pic? I thought it would have been with all the marks on it. But yeah I got em mostly for the 53

The 1883 does look beat up and isn't worth much, a $5 coin. The 1853 looks much nicer and is easily worth $15. You did okay.

The 1853 looks very nice, with honest, even wear. The 1883 is badly damaged, and possibly bent. Bent is very bad, and would reduce the value of the 1883 to near melt, if so. Sellers will often pair a badly-damaged coin with a decent, low-grade one to get rid of the bad one. Now you've got a nice 1853 plus a problem coin that may nag at you pretty soon, and it won't be easy to sell. As long as you figured this in your purchase price, you'll be fine. Maybe you can spend it, and make someone's day!

The 1853 looks like a really nice coin.

The 1883 can always be sold off or traded.

Thanks for the responses. Glad to see that it wasn't too bad a deal then. Let my impulses get ahold of me for the 53. But yeah may only get melt value for the other but who knows

Nice purchases.

Are these for the 7070 or just for the fun of it?
