The 1874H 25 cent piece, has anyone ever noticed that there seems to be a high 4 as well as a low 4 in circ. My question is as well as the above one, I wonder if the low 4 is perhaps harder to find than the high 4. Has there been any serious studies on this coin as per possible varieties etc?
Cheers and ty.
Jon

besides what's available on the CandC site

hi Paul, here is the link to my coin posted some time ago. Check the location in the date numerals then compare it to the link of CandC pic of the same year coin. There looks to be something different going on between these two coins. Cheers and ty Paul for the reply.

On the high 4 coin----seems to me it is a low 7, giving the impression of a high 4.....but it maybe the lighting effect. We need to zoom in a lot more.

I-Want-To-Throw-Something-Out-There,-1874-H-Quarter

the 187 seem to be in the same spot on about 20 coins I checked so far. It seems it only the 4 that has changed positions. I googled these coins and went to images and it gave quite a few examples off both highs and lows. IMO.
