Especially when asking one teller and the other one pokes her head over to say 'You should see the ones I have!'

Done-With-Boxes,-Loose-And-Cwrs-Are-Where-It's-At-For-Me!

15 proof halves.
1976 - 2
1977 - 1
1979 - 5
1981 - 2
1982 - 5

7 proof SBAs.
1979 - 5
1981 - 2

Looks like someone busted their sets up! A shame there weren't any other coins from them (I asked).

And if I'm not mistaken... ALL of the 1979 coins, all 10, are type 2!

Nice! I never hunt boxes, mainly because no banks around here will order them. I've found one or two that they ordered on accident, and got skunked.

I have one bank that is willing to order but has been known to forget, and one that seems to order them by default to keep stocked, but the tellers there are absolute you-know-what's unless you have an account that you pay fees for each month so I do my best to avoid that one if at all possible.

Most all of my best finds have been loose or CWRs

I went to a town down the road today. I found a pawn shop that had a couple Morgans just above spot. I couldn't believe it. Most shops here want twice spot, so I got them.

I then went to banks. The first one had two 40% halves, but the next few were skunks. I then found a coin counter with $90 in halves. I bought the bag and took it home. That with the two 40% made a nice haul. It had a Franklin, JFK 90% and 40%'ers, a gold plated '96, and even a '67 Canadian Centennial Wolf! I find all kinds of odd stuff in bags.

4 90%
'57D
3 '64

1 80%
'67 Canadian

7 40%
2 '66
2 '67
2 '68D
1 '69

Thanks all, apparently there was also a proof Jefferson dollar in the other coins I got yesterday as well, but it's much more battered than these so I missed it at first.

Nice set of proofs!

It is always fun when the tellers start asking around and you see another teller say, "Yeah, I have a bunch of those I just got today". Then they bring them over and you catch a glimpse of what looks to be a lot of Silver! Then that feeling of oh no, they are going to realize what they are holding and not give it to me.... What a RUSH!
