I came across this coin on ebay. I'm not familiar with the seller, but this would be a good deal if the coin is authentic. Does anyone know anything about this seller (partridgeonline), or have any authority on the authenticity of this coin? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cyprus-Medi...em4196efb34c

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm new here, and didn't realize I had posted it in the wrong place. Thanks for moving it.

I don't collect medieval so can't help. I don't know the seller so can't comment. But he does say two things that I absolutely hate.
1. I am getting rid of my stuff that I collected over 50 years. 2. Unresearched rare item.

I agree. I've been collecting coins for a while, and I also despise statements like those. I'm probably going to let this one pass, but I was curious what others might have to say about it.

to the community Medieval crusader coins are not my area either, but IMO the coin looks genuine. However there is some damage and the weight seems really light. You can go to http://www.acsearch.info/?mcs=1 and search crusader coins you might find an example there. At $20 it might be worth taking a change, though I wouldn't pay much more.

Could be just from the photos themselves, but the surface texture looks questionable to me. Has that grainy-look to like I've seen on fake silver.

I agree with VK. It looks questionable at best, I would pass as well.

Thanks for the advice everyone. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is; so I'm not going to risk it.

I smell what VK is stepping in. The coin exibits a questionable surface. The coin is most likely authentic, over cleaned and billon (debased silver.) It does have some good details and an acceptable about of legend. I feel think about it like this, If I wanted such a small coin with details I would try to get one that is at least complete and undamaged, say (Fine). You could buy a decent one for generally about $50.(F-VF-) Look around for Crusader Cyprus.
