Hi all,
This is nothing special but I just cant find a RIC number for it.
I have found plenty of matches but they are all Denarius, the only bronze I found with the AEQUITAS reverse has a different obverse legend
Obverse - IMPCMAVRSEV ALEXANDAVG
Reverse - A EQUI TASAVG, holding scales and cornucopiae
Weight - 2.35g
Size - 18mm

Alexander-Severus-Coin,-Struggling-With-Id.

Alexander-Severus-Coin,-Struggling-With-Id.
Probably just me having a daft moment but I cant find it.
Any help is appreciated.
TIA.

One occasionally sees the bronze cores from fouree/silvered denarii, sometimes in surprisingly good shape...like these:

Could yours possibly be something like these? Just brain-stormin' here...

I think this one might even be a Limes denarius. Official coins struck on the fringes of the empire to pay the troops. They usually have very little silver content.

I think you are on to something, Ron.

Although not identical, here are a couple Severus Alexander limes denarii:

and, from Wildwinds:

Alexander-Severus-Coin,-Struggling-With-Id.
OBV: IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, Laureate, draped bust right.
REV: ANNONA AVG, Annona standing left, holding corn-ears over
modius and cornucopiae.

Interesting thread here from cointalk.com, dealing with ancient counterfeits, as well as limes and AE denarii:

If it were me, simply "AE/limes denarius"
