I am involved on a thread in another forum on Metal Detecting.
I suggesting the coin shown could be counterfeit.

the 'rust' could be from some piece of iron embedded in the coin. It was dug out of the dirt.

my thought is that it looks just too darn good to be dug from the dirt, the details are excellent, from what can be seen from the photograph.

You think it is a counterfeit because the coin looks to good to have been dug from the dirt? Huh?
