It isn't your cash. Congress gave away our monetary system to the Federal Reserve. Only gold and silver count, and presidents can order you to turn that in. Ask why the current ounces say one dollar and twenty dollars.

Good to see so many people aware of economics, particularly the fractional reserve banking system and the fact that our money is just "I owe yous" from the government! If anyone is looking for some good books to read on economics let me know. I've read quite a few good ones.
One of these days I'll probably go back to school for a PHD in economics. I'll stick with a Masters for now, need a break from school :P

I've been saying this for a long time now. Cash is just outdated. The necessity to go to different countries and buy stuff just shows you the need to get rid of cash everywhere. Why bother trying to figure out how much a loaf of bread costs in Germany, Russia, China, etc. You just pull out a credit of debit card and the computer pays it for you. Right now I seldom ever use cash anymore. With a BOA card I get from 1 to 3 % back on everything I buy with that card. Then eventually transfer the results to a savings or checking account and get another 50% more. Other card companies are doing similar. So why bother using cash? My Son has a business and hardly ever uses cash. He needs the credit card statements for records. Naturally for anything good there is always something not so good. Not easy to use a credit card at a flea market. Most shows, coin, stamp, gun, knife, computer, etc. type shows don't really like those. Not easy to go to a garage, yard, estate sale and use a credit card. And some businesses charge you extra if you use a credit or debit card. Try buying stuff on the internet with cash. Pay a kid to cut your lawn or shovel snow without using cash. Yes eventually we all will be a non cash world.

Going cashless sounds like a step to needing the mark of the beast to transact.
Some of you may consider going cashless to be progress, I agree only I see it as progress to furthering the sin of money changing.

Quote: So why bother using cash? It's worth the 1-3% loss to me by not using a bank card, and having my purchasing activity tracked. Paranoid? Slightly. My wife's credit info was hacked twice last Christmas after an online purchase. Pita to get that sorted out. Then, shortly after, when we filed taxes we had to contact the IRS because someone had used her SS# in an attempt to hijack a tax refund. I use cash for 99% of my purchases, on a daily basis. I find that I spend less than when I used a credit card.

With cash, your purchases(and you) cannot be tracked and catalogued. Now they ask for your phone number or email address to try to track you further, for "marketing" purposes. Of course my answer is always no.
Thanks. I'll stick to cash whenever possible.
BTW, it appears that Ireland is now doing away with their 1 and 2 cent pieces.

The worst thing about going cashless is no more great coins in change. No chance of finding what you need to complete a set. No more coins too would mean a lot of companies slowly going out of business like Dansco, Whitman, Littleton, etc.

If you are concerned about having to spend or accept cents, don't worry - you don't have to. Spend large denominations if you like, and leave the cents on the counter. However there may be something else at stake here. Some people think that the power balance should favor the citizenry and not the government and the international bankers. We still collect Half Cents and they have not been minted in over 150 years. People will still need new albums to replace old worn out ones.

I always found that they made such a fuss when I sad no that it was just easier to give them an address and phone number. I have no problem making one up on the fly. I did the same thing back years ago when everyone always asked for SS#'s. They want a nine digit number so I'd give them one. I still use a few of them. And in rare cases even my real one, to those people who have a LEGAL reason to require it.

I view money changing and usury and fractional reserve banking and currency debasement all as the same general crime against humanity.
Getting rid of cash is sign marker on the road to tyranny.

He would be dead from future shock long before he could contemplate an alleged abomination.
