I just got the note bug after I found these in my mom's long forgoten collection that I might post in the circulation thread later.

1973-Low-Serial,-Note

But after I looked more closely at them I found this 1973 $1

1973-Low-Serial,-Note

Im just wondering if this bill would have any extra premium for the kinda low serial. If not how low would they have to be.
If picture doesn't work ECN0008332

Just another question whats the difference between 1954 British American Note Company Limited, and the Canadian BankNote Company Limited.
Were they made in different places?
Thanks

To be considered a Low Serial Number Note, it has to be under 1000.

Ohh I totally responded to this last night but fell asleep at the computer... hahahah

So like Jimmy said to be low it has to be below 1000...

It is also my belief that the BoC contracted two different print companies with the task of printing the notes to make sure they both could keep up with the demand in the set time schedule.

I don't know where each print companies is located but I would assume they're in different locations.

They're two different companies so yes they were made at different facilities but they were both in Ottawa.

Are the 1970's note series worth the time to take out of circulation if you find any or receive any from a bank.

Depends on who you ask...

Me .. I say yes and I do... but that's because the 70's series is by far my favourite series... I like the colours, the microprinting the contour lines the images on the back.. I just like everything about the notes.

But you may have to have a bit of discretion...

So perhaps you may need to pick out only UNC's

or radars, or solids or replacements etc. etc....

Me I don't discriminate... I keep 'em all if I can... although I don't expect them to be worth all that much and with inflation holding onto them is really only for novelty... any increase in value is negated by inflation (for my notes)
