Well, it has characteristics of colonial period Spanish coinage, and gives the impression of having been salvaged from a shipwreck, but I have doubts as to its authenticity. Size & weight?

Unless it's very thin, that size to weight ratio would seem to rule out it's being made of any precious metal.
