Wait. I'm not sure how this is related to, the "Demise of Circulation finds"?
Most of us know about the silver switch in 1964.
This is an interesting presentation but confusing. IMHO

It makes sense to me. Collecting peaked about 1964, then the Mint tried to kill it off, and almost did. Not only did they eliminate silver, they stopped making mint sets and took mintmarks off coins for a while. Now, most people into the hobby are really stackers.

Of course, the appearance of grandchildren and thugs looting coin collections and spending the coins face value has restored some circulation finds -- you just hate to see them. I had a cashier in a liquor store tell me about the IHC from the 80s that he received at the cash register in really nice condition.

When I read the title, I was expecting a presentation on how "you can't find much silver in circulation anymore" or something like that. He's just talking about the current state of numismatics, and how there is a lack of new collectors, not circulation finds.

A bit on the subject, to be honest I've found more of my target coins, silver, by the thousands, in the last seven years, than I ever did back in the '70's. From circulated rolls.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72
