I recently went to my Local Coin Shop and looked through the junk bin and a very shiny Washington quarter stood out. I'm pretty sure it is proof but just wanted to clarify. I don't know how well the pictures show it though. Thanks.

It's very well struck, but 99% sure it's a business strike. At any rate, it's certainly seen some circulatuon, which would negate any premium that being a proof would bring.

Proofs before 1968 were minted at Philly, so it can be difficult to tell at times.

The obverse tells me nice business strike, but the reverse fields looks proof. if it is then it's called an impaired proof. either way you did ok with the price.

It looks like it's a business strike to me.

Maybe a prooflike coin. Obverse looks like a business strike and reverse looks like a proof. Pre-1965 Quarters will often get tossed into the bargain box when the dealer cannot get $5.00 a piece for them --- cause at that point they are really trading at melt or a few (face value) points above melt.

I agree with others in the fact that it looks to be a business strike.. It was still a nice little score you found in the bargain bin. nice pickup for sure
