Tidying out some old boxes I found this old coin / token. I was wondering if anyone could help identify what it was. Looks like its been used at sometime as a pendant as there is remains of string in a hole that has been made as can be seen in photos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks Paul

It looks like a piece of thin thread has been put through it, there is some writing around the side but cant make out what it is as it seems to be a soft metal which has been knocked about a bit - possibly silver?

It is neither a coin or token, it is a lead seal used on bags, or other items that would indicate if said bag or container was opened of other wise tampered with.

Circus is absolutely right. The cypher is the royal monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm III, King of Prussia from 1797-1840:
