Does anybody have a suggestion for a good British penny album, like those made by Intercept Shield and Dansco? I'm looking for something for decimal pennies, but also for pre-decimal coppers. The silver penny bug might bite me, but it hasn't yet.

Also, I'd love to know what on-line resources you know about and recommend for learning more about British coppers/bronze. Or even {{shudder}} a . . . book.

tusen takk

The best book is probably The Bronze Coinage Of Great Britain by Michael J Freeman. Coincraft's "English and UK Coins 1066 to Date" and any Spinks or Seaby catalog will be fairly good if you can pick up a second-hand one somewhere.

Here in the UK it's practically impossible to get any albums of the Dansco type for British coins. Whitman used to do folders for British pre-decimal pennies, but the last time I saw one in a coin shop was about 20 years ago.

ah, many thanks for the info and links. Getting this book is one thing I can do with the Amazon credits I've built up by dumping US cents into the CoinStar machine!

And maybe I'll look at getting a blank Dansco or the like for the pennies.

Collectors coins GB do 2 titles.
Predecimal and decimal and have far more information/varieties than Spink.
The 2 books together will be half the price of Spink.
